Getting your home ready for a wound care visit.
Your home does not need to look a certain way for you to ask for care. A short conversation about the space and your needs makes the arrangements clearer for everyone.
Describe access ahead of time
- Tell the scheduling team about steps, elevators, entry codes, parking or difficulty reaching the door.
- If you need help moving within your home, explain your usual arrangements.
Choose a comfortable place to talk
- Think about where you would feel comfortable discussing your health, and mention any privacy concerns.
- Ask whether household members or pets need separate arrangements during the visit.
Keep useful information together
- Have your questions, current instructions, medication list and care team contacts within reach.
- Confirm arrival arrangements and the number to call if your availability changes.
